Gregg practices with Arcus Legal’s Estates Team and Property Team. With our Estates Team, he serves clients’ needs for estate and trust planning, and probate administration. As part of Arcus Legal’s Property Team, he advises and represents clients through the purchase, sale, mortgage, and construction of real property.

Gregg eagerly serves the varied needs of his clients, whether straightforward or complex. He believes it is important for a lawyer to take even the most technical legal concepts and make them easier for non-lawyers to understand and apply.

Soon after his admission to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1990, Gregg was asked to serve as Chair of the Wills, Estates and Trusts Section of the Canadian Bar Association’s Nova Scotia Branch. This led to a career focussed primarily on estate planning and administration, elder law and charitable giving, combined with experience in wealth management, taxation, business succession, real property, agriculture and fisheries law, and mental health law.

Throughout his career, Gregg has been an active presenter at professional conferences and public legal education events. He has served on several law reform initiatives including the Probate Act Reform Project Legislative Subcommittee and the Law Reform Commission of Nova Scotia’s Report on Reform of the Wills Act. Developing an interest in charities law, Gregg served on the Canadian Bar Association’s national Charities and Not-for-Profit Law Section before founding and chairing the first Nova Scotia section. Gregg also served as an Adjudicator of the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia for 13 years.

Gregg currently serves as the Chair of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Appeal Board. He is a member of the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act Review Board, the Aquaculture Review Board of Nova Scotia, and the Cole Harbour Place Board of Directors. He presently serves on the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society Finance Committee. Gregg describes himself as a proud “military brat” who understands the legal needs of Canada’s veterans, active military and their families. He lives in Cole Harbour with his family.
