Please join us in welcoming our newest associate lawyer, Amanda Forsey, to the Arcus Legal team! Amanda graduated in 2019 with a Juris Doctor from University of New Brunswick. She also has as a Bachelor of Commerce with a Major in Finance from St. Mary’s University. She will be working closely alongside Erin O’Brien Edmonds, practicing Property Law. Arcus is celebrating our second Fur Foot Friday!

Did you know that the SPCA has recently introduced Virtual Adoptions? These innocent pets are some of the many that will be with the SPCA even longer due to the current State of Emergency. Your donation will provide shelter, medicine, toys, and food to fill their hungry bellies. As a thank you for your gift, you will receive monthly updates of your virtual furry friend while they await their forever family.

Due to COVID-19, the SPCA faces reduced availability to many resources required to help animals in need. This year, the Nova Scotia SPCA will care for more than 6,000 pets; some who need medical treatment to survive and some who need one-on-one support to overcome abuse and neglect.… [Read more]

Today we celebrate our first Fur Foot Friday at Arcus Legal!

Did you know that SPCA shelters, such as the Nova Scotia SPCA – Dartmouth Shelter, do not receive any government funding? Medical treatment is expensive, and with a proud no-kill policy, donations help the SPCA to recover these costs and provide life-saving care for animals in need!

Arcus Legal has collaborated with the SPCA to dedicate all of our Casual Friday donations in support of our furry friends! Staff at Arcus are wearing a variety of fun furry UGG style footwear to represent our friend’s little feet. Dexter and Brutus approved!… [Read more]

Brutus and Dexter are preparing for the mandatory mask policy that is coming into effect as of Friday, July 31st.

We are delighted to report that Sara Backman has joined the Arcus Legal team. She will be providing support in office administration and operations as an Executive Assistant. Sara is an NSCC graduate with an Open Concentration Diploma in Business Administration. Before pursuing her business career, Sara worked in early childhood education. In her spare time, Sara enjoys four-wheeling and playing guitar. Please join us in welcoming Sara!

We are pleased to announce that Kelly Mattinson has joined our real estate team at Arcus Legal. Kelly brings over 18 years of experience as a paralegal. She will be working on real estate purchases, sales, mortgages, title transfers, migrations, and land agreements. Kelly is a problem solver who enjoys helping clients transform a complicated legal process into a simple and seamless one. Kelly is also a ‘hockey mom’ of two and is an active volunteer with hockey associations and other community programs. We are very happy to have her on board.
